Like a lot of poets, I enter quite a few competitions in the hopes of getting picked.. pick me! pick me! So far, it’s not happened, but I did emit a squeal of excitement when I got the email to let me know I’d made it to the ‘Commended poets’ list for the local postcode category. I went to tell my husband who, for a moment, thought we’d won the lottery – such was my happiness…
