It’s always exhilarating to read your work out loud to an audience. And what an audience it was. AND 20 poets signing up to read on the night! And what an amazing venue. I’d never been before but the Gratitude Cafe has a vibrant events calendar (and great cake).
It was also the book launch of Colin Wells’ new pamphlet ‘Do You Want Rhymes With That?’. An excellent collection, highly recommended.
For my own part, I tried out a new-ish piece, called ‘Pull on my socks’, which seem to go down well (and there was laughter in all the right places – what a relief)
